Zcash Grants Committee Withdraws Plan Involving About 98,000 ZEC
ZCG withdrew its funding-taper proposal in a November 3 statement. The roughly 98,000 ZEC figure combined treasury and future allocations, not an executed transfer or burn.
Zcash Community Grants (ZCG) said in its November 3 forum update that it would not advance the funding-taper idea introduced on October 29. It left the future of the development fund and its treasury to Zcash’s normal governance process.
What the withdrawn numbers meant
The original outline envisaged moving about 36,200 ZEC from the committee’s treasury to the Network Sustainability Mechanism, alongside reducing expected ZCG funding through the 2028 halving from about 109,000 ZEC to 47,000. The outline described a combined redirection of about 98,000 ZEC toward future block rewards. That figure was a proposed mix of existing funds and future allocations, not a single completed transfer or a token burn.
OrangeX.com Analysis
Our reading is that the withdrawal changes the status of this proposal. It does not by itself adopt a competing plan, execute a treasury transfer or change network consensus rules. Future proposals still need to be assessed through the applicable governance and implementation steps. ZEC holders should distinguish a committee statement, a draft funding design and an enacted protocol change before drawing conclusions about supply or price.
