Pyth DAO Directs All Product Funds It Receives to PYTH Reserve
Pyth DAO has adopted a standing rule that directs all funds it receives from Pyth products into PYTH accumulation, with existing execution safeguards unchanged.
Pyth DAO replaced recurring monthly approvals with a standing mandate: product funds received by the DAO now flow into its PYTH reserve under fixed trading and reporting controls.
What changed under the 100% Rule
Pyth DAO has adopted a standing authorization that directs 100% of the funds it receives from Pyth products toward accumulating PYTH for the DAO reserve. The measure, approved as OP-PIP-136, replaces the previous process in which the community had to approve reserve purchases month by month. Funds already received as PYTH can move directly into the reserve. Stablecoins are sent to a preauthorized council for open-market purchases before the acquired tokens return to the DAO Treasury.
Execution limits remain in place
The new mandate changes the frequency of governance approvals, but it does not remove the purchase controls. The published framework retains a 5% maximum slippage limit, a $25,000 cap per transaction, aggregator routing, public transaction evidence and monthly reporting. These guardrails matter because a standing authorization increases execution speed while also concentrating responsibility in the approved operating process.
Revenue and the September purchase
Pyth reported overall annual recurring revenue of $11.5 million for September 2026, up 86% quarter over quarter. Its indices product contributed $1.81 million in fixed annual recurring revenue. The DAO receives a 60% revenue share from DAO-owned products, and the 100% rule applies to the funds that actually reach the DAO rather than to every dollar of gross network activity. A September purchase report recorded 2,582,433.55 PYTH returned to the DAO Treasury after stablecoin and SOL executions.
What the rule means for PYTH
The policy creates a recurring link between product cash flows and reserve demand for PYTH. It is a treasury allocation mechanism, not a token burn, dividend or promise of price appreciation. Market impact can vary with revenue, purchase timing, liquidity and broader conditions. Trading considerations
A transparent monthly report can help market participants distinguish executed purchases from expected future demand. Traders should still examine volume, order-book depth and volatility before acting. OrangeX.com Analysis
The governance change makes the reserve program more automatic and easier to audit because the authorization, execution limits and reporting cycle are defined in advance. Its economic significance will depend on the amount of product revenue the DAO actually receives and the quality of execution. September provides a concrete example, but one month does not establish a durable trend. The reserve may strengthen alignment between product adoption and token demand, while price effects remain uncertain and should not be treated as guaranteed.
