Router Protocol plans to end operations by September 30, 2026, and burn 303,333,198 ROUTE tokens from its treasury, The Block reported on September 6, 2026, citing the project’s September 4 announcement.
The cross-chain project reached the decision after efforts to commercialize or license its technology, or secure an acquisition, failed to produce a viable outcome, according to the report.

The project also plans to make selected software components open source. No new ROUTE programs are planned, The Block reported.
Exchanges will determine their own delisting arrangements.
